If there’s a voice in the back of your mind that asking you, “Do I know these guys from somewhere?”, there’s a very good reason. Several weeks ago, the John Kelly Band was invited to play on the CBS’s The Early Show as part of their “Living Room…Live!” Series. According to the CBS website, the competition is designed to…

“…introduce viewers to the three latest bands in the competition (We post the videos of Adam and the guys on this page, in the column on the right). Then, we ask you to pick, via an online vote on CBSNews.com, from among the three bands for that week. Over the course of 12 weeks, viewers will narrow the list to the final three, then vote on them to name America’s favorite new band. The ultimate band will be invited to perform on The Early Show the week of Sept. 24 — the kind of television and Internet exposure bands dream about!”

Well we’re proud to tell you that the John Kelly Band received the greatest number of online votes for week five and now move on to the second round of voting for their chance at the grand prize…perfoming live on the show September 24th. Click here to read more and vote for our local favorite!

About John Kelly
John is from Teaneck, NJ and, a country boy at heart, John followed his heart and moved to Nashville in 1995, where he joined forces with some of Music City’s finest. John’s style has been dubbed “an alternative country, crossover, rootsy sound full of strong melodies and honest lyrics.” Together with his band, Leftfield Jackson, John was discovered by the owners of the newly built East Iris Recording Studio where the group put together their first demo, scoring them the headline act for the Tennessee Titan’s season opener. Inspired by the studio experience, John went on to start his own studio, “The Hideaway”, which he currently runs from St. Petersburg, FL.

John has produced and recorded 5 albums – the band’s debut, Just Another Day, There’s The Door, Everyone Tries, Waiting and his newest release, Forgiven.
