John Kelly Band one round away from becoming finalist!

The John Kelly Band was one of 27 finalist bands chosen to compete in the CBS Early Show’s Living Room Live Battle of the Bands.  Based on a nationwide online vote for the next best thing, their homespun video recording of the single, In Your Heart, put the band within one round of the ultimate finals, in which the contest would have 3 bands ultimately competing for the prize – a trip to NY to play in front of a live television audience on the Early Show.  “We’re pretty proud to have been in the final 9″, said John Kelly, lead guitarist and singer-songwriter for the JKB.

The JKB won week 5 by an astounding 47%, earning themselves a spot in the second ultimate finalist round and coming within 2 wins of the ultimate prize.  In week 8, JKB was up against two great acts – After Never, a Chicago band and One Last Hurrah, from Tallahassee.  This is where the ride would come to an end, but not before the band had a chance to perform live on CBS’ Studio 10 where the JKB played two songs, Still and their hit single, In Your Heart, which was at the same time receiving national attention on CBS’ Early Show.

We can be sure to see this band continuing their musical journey in the years to come.    With Tim Poole on Harmonica sealing up the band’s harmonies and Geni Poole and Jeff Martin providing the foundation on bass and drums, this band has many more headlines to make.
